I made my decisions on which civs should be in based on power/international importance, filling the map without making it too crowded, and including interesting nations that have conflict potential. There are no doubt some mods that would be compatible, so if you really want to you can try playing it in conjunction with other mods, but I will not be able to help you troubleshoot if something goes wrong in this case.
